Turkish Star Wars

You are about to witness the most amazing film ever made. No, it is not George Lucas’ Star Wars.  It is Dünyayi Kurtaran Adam, translated – The Man Who Saves the World. starwars_1

Dünyayi Kurtaran Adam is a Turkish-made cult film commonly known as Turkish Star Wars because of its notorious use of unauthorized Star Wars footage worked into the film.

It was released in 1982 in the midst of massive political upheaval. As a result, American-made films weren’t easily acquired and were often remade with a Turkish cast and setting.

Don’t worry if English is your only language because this film is so good that not understanding the dialogue will not be a problem.  This film has won a spot in my heart and is now in my top 10 list.
