Clive Barker’s Book of Blood Movie

Clive Barker is becoming an expert at having his films fly under the radar.  Remember Midnight Meat Train?

There is a new Clive Barker Presents film hitting the streets on May 21, 2009 in  the Netherlands and on June 24 2009 in Belgium but no word on another other releases, such as here in the States.  The film is called Book of Blood and judging from the trailer it looks amazing.

I am a HUGE Clive Barker fan, I still remember the moment I read my first Clive Barker book, The Hellbound Heart.

Anyway, back to the film, Book of Blood.  According to The Official Clive Barker site, it states that, “John Harrison (the director) has now spoken candidly about looking for a non-theatrical release for the movie” So, I expect a straight to DVD release or at least a very small and limited release in theaters.

So heads up now, if you see this film playing anywhere you have two things to do…

1) See the movie!!

2) Let me know where it is playing.

Book of Blood is based on a short story by Clive Barker of the same title, published in Volume One of the collection Books of Blood. The plot features a young man who finds a place of transportation of souls in the afterlife. It is being directed by John Harrison. Leading actors include Jonas Armstrong, Doug Bradley, Sophie Ward, and Reg Fuller. Book of Blood was filmed in Edinburgh, Scotland.
