The Walking Dead Official Release

Posted on 27 August 2010 by Jason Bayless

In July, we talked and showed the ‘leaked’ trailer for AMC’s The Walking Dead on Zombie Popcorn Radio.  I didn’t want to post the video here on Zombie Popcorn until the official release of the trailer, due to the poor quality of the ‘leaked’ video. zombiesamc

Today, is that day.  AMC has released the official ‘The Walking Dead’ trailer

AMC’s The Walking Dead is a six-episode series based on the comic book written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. The Walking Dead tells the story of life following a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, traveling in search of a safe and secure home. Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, Teachers, Strike Back) will portray the lead role of Rick Grimes while actor Jon Bernthal (The Pacific, The Ghost Writer) will portray the character Shane, who worked with Rick in the police department before the zombie disaster. Other cast includes Laurie Holden (The Shield), who plays Andrea, one of two sisters who join the survivors of the zombie plague, Steven Yeun as Glenn, an expert scavenger and Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break), who plays Rick’s wife Lori.

Zombie Popcorn Radio’s New Home

Posted on 22 June 2010 by Jason Bayless

Zombie Popcorn Radio has a new home on Zombie Popcorn now. zpradiohead

Zombie Popcorn Radio started back in September 2009 and it was just Josh and me.  Since that time we have grown and now Paul has become apart of the show and has contributed his music by creating the Zombie Popcorn Radio intro.

We have met some wonderful people during the time of doing the show and a couple of the listeners have become staples of the show.  If you have ever listened to an episode or watched it in 3D, then you know 3DmovieMan and Jen. – If not, what are you waiting for?

We have also interviewed some amazing people on Zombie Popcorn Radio, including a long time 3D idol of mine, Mr. Tony Anthony.  Check out the list of people we interviewed in such a short time that we have been live on the ‘air’.

So it was time to make a bigger home for Zombie Popcorn Radio because we have no plans of stopping.  Check out the new look of Zombie Popcorn Radio and let me know what you think and don’t forget to tune in every Saturday Night at 7-9pm Eastern.

PS  – I am still working on the site and updating all of the episodes so the most current ones are currently not up – but this gives you a chance to listen to some of the very first episodes.  So enjoy

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Tags: , , , ,

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Posted on 02 April 2010 by Jason Bayless

You know how we feel about Nick Cage here at Zombie Popcorn if you ever listened to one of our Radio shows.    That is why it is hard for me to write what I am about to post in this article – so I will start slowly and ease into to this– bear with me.  sorcerershead

Der Zauberlehrling or as we know it as, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a poem that was written in 1797 by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. (If you want to read the poem, it is at the bottom of this post.)

In short, the  poem begins as an old sorcerer departs his workshop, leaving his apprentice with chores to perform. Tired of fetching water  by pail, the apprentice enchants a broom to do the work for him — using magic he is not yet fully trained in. The floor is soon awash with water, and the apprentice realizes that he cannot stop the broom because he does not know how.

Not knowing how to control the enchanted broom, the apprentice splits it in two with an axe, but each of the pieces becomes a new broom and takes up a pail and continues fetching water, now at twice the speed. When all seems lost, the old sorcerer returns, quickly breaks the spell and saves the day. The poem finishes with the old sorcerer’s statement that powerful spirits should only be called by the master himself.

If this story sounds familiar you maybe thinking of the Disney film, Fantasia.  In that film, Disney followed the poem very closely and added Mickey Mouse as the apprentice – it is a classic short.

Now Disney is at it again but this time they are making the story more modern and adding so much more, including Nicolas Cage.  Here is where the painful part comes in…because after watching two trailers for this film-  I think it looks good and I may just go see it.

Watch the two trailers and let me know what you think — the film should hit the theaters July 16, 2010.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Good! The sorcerer, my old master
left me here alone today!
Now his spirits, for a change,
my own wishes shall obey!
Having memorized
what to say and do,
with my powers of will I can
do some witching, too!

Go, I say,
Go on your way,
do not tarry,
water carry,
let it flow abundantly,
and prepare a bath for me!

Come on now, old broom, get dressed,
these old rags will do just fine!
You’re a slave in any case,
and today you will be mine!
May you have two legs,
and a head on top,
take the bucket, quick
hurry, do not stop!

Go, I say,
Go on your way,
do not tarry,
water carry,
let it flow abundantly,
and prepare a bath for me.

Look, how to the bank he’s running!
and now he has reached the river,
he returns, as quick as lightning,
once more water to deliver.
Look! The tub already
is almost filled up!
And now he is filling
every bowl and cup!

Stop! Stand still!
Heed my will!
I’ve enough
of the stuff!
I’ve forgotten – woe is me!
what the magic word may be.

Oh, the word to change him back
into what he was before!
Oh, he runs, and keeps on going!
Wish you’d be a broom once more!
He keeps bringing water
quickly as can be,
and a hundred rivers
he pours down on me!

No, no longer
can I let him,
I must get him
with some trick!
I’m beginning to feel sick.
What a look! – and what a face!

O, you ugly child of Hades!
The entire house will drown!
Everywhere I look, I see
water, water, running down.
Be you damned, old broom,
why won’t you obey?
Be a stick once more,
please, I beg you, stay!

Is the end
not in sight?
I will grab you,
hold you tight,
with my axe I’ll split the brittle
old wood smartly down the middle.

Here he comes again with water!
Now I’ll throw myself upon you,
and the sharpness of my axe
I will test, o spirit, on you.
Well, a perfect hit!
See how he is split!
Now there’s hope for me,
and I can breathe free!

Woe is me! Both pieces
come to life anew,
now, to do my bidding
I have servants two!
Help me, o great powers!
Please, I’m begging you!

And they’re running! Wet and wetter
get the stairs, the rooms, the hall!
What a deluge! What a flood!
Lord and master, hear my call!
Ah, here comes the master!
I have need of Thee!
from the spirits that I called
Sir, deliver me!

“Back now, broom,
into the closet!
Be thou as thou
wert before!
Until I, the real master
call thee forth to serve once more!”

Aliens Invade Zombie Popcorn, Seriously!

Posted on 31 March 2010 by Jason Bayless

On Saturday, April 3rd at 7-9pm Eastern – Zombie Popcorn Radio will be invaded by Aliens.   alien18

We will be interviewing a man who says he has been in contact with both the grey and reptilian aliens very frequently.  In fact, he said they have given him permission to ‘channel’ them (the aliens) during the interview – meaning we can ask the aliens questions.

So get your questions ready because this Saturday – Zombie Popcorn Radio is going to be OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Don’t know much about the grey aliens or the reptilian aliens?

Here is a little blurb about them that I found online — I am sure if this description is wrong we can have it clearified during the interview.

The Greys

There are several sub-types of the greys. All tend to appear greyish in color and for this reason are reffered to as “greys”. They have large heads and black “wrap around”eyes. They have limited facial features, slit for a mouth and no nose to speak of.They have evolved beyond the need for reproductive systems or digestive systems and reproduce by cloning.Their genetics are partly based on insectoidal genetics.Their science deals largely with the study of other life forms and genetic engineering. They have supposedly had a part to play in the alteration of human genetics over thousands of years. It seems that they may be trying to cross breed with humans in order to create a “mixture race” that would be better than either. They seem to be emotionless and therefor are seen as cruel in their treatment of human beings. These greys are actually servants to a master race of reptilian-type aliens known as the Reptilians.

The Reptilians

A genetics akin to reptiles, these are highly advanced entities but viewed as being negatives, hostile or dangerous disposition since they regard humans as a totally inferior race. They would perceive us much the way we would perceive a herd of cattle.Reptillians are carnivorous in regard to humans. They consider earth to be their own ancient outpost and would expect to have complete control of the entire planet upon their return.Their own planet is becoming unable to adequately support life and they need somewhere else to live. They have the greys “working” for them as they wish not to be seen.

Zombie Popcorn Radio Goes Supernatural

Posted on 24 March 2010 by Jason Bayless

If you caught last weeks episode of Zombie Popcorn Radio, you would have been introduced to our next guest, Lisa Phillips.  lisa

Lisa is a

  • Spiritual Advisor
  • she preforms Psychic Readings and will do one live on the show.
  • Medium
  • she does Physical & Spiritual Energy Cleansings
  • she also does Law Enforcement Cold Case Readings.

For over 25 years, Lisa Phillips, also fondly known as “MamaLisa,” has been assisting and guiding people to
the wonderful life that is theirs through her psychic insight and angelic-guided mediumistic abilities. She is
always in demand by those in need of spiritual assistance and demonic cleansings.

She recognized her calling as well as her various abilities at the tender age of 3. Her father, a strict and
unyielding fundamental spiritual warrior, discouraged this development. However, in her teen years she began
to fully embrace her natural and God-given gifts through the help of her angels and also started building her
relationship with God and the Powers That Be. Lisa was schooled in communicating with the angelic realm and
also learned how to discern demonic entities as well.

With over 2 decades of hands-on experience after performing countless energy healings, cleansings, and
exorcisms, she has developed a broad and unique set of skills. She also works closely with other gifted
mediums and energy healers and is in constant communication with the angelic realm which further assists her
in her work. Her strengths are her unconditional love, strong faith, wisdom, humility, and her joyous laughter.
She has been called to help people from all walks of life regardless of their religious beliefs or backgrounds,
and approaches each and every situation with great respect and sensitivity.

In addition, MamaLisa is one of the host of the popular Supernatural Encounters Radio Show which can be
heard on Para-X.com every Tuesday at 8pm EST.

She is available for a wide array of services including: consultations, spiritual counseling, spiritual development,
entity removal, psychic readings, seminars, and cold case readings for law enforcement. Her specialty is the
exorcism of malevolent and demonic entities. She is regularly sought out by both private homeowners and
paranormal groups who are dealing with these types of negative situations.

Along with all of that Lisa runs the  radio program called, Supernatural Encounters Radio with her co-host Nathan Levan.

So as you can see she is a very BUSY woman and we are very happy that she is taking time out to come on the show to talk with us.  She is even going to do a reading LIVE on air of me!

This is going to be an exciting show and not to be missed – Mark your calendars because on Saturday March, 27, 2010  7-9pm (EST) – Zombie Popcorn Radio is getting other-worldly.

If you want to listen to Lisa’s shows you can find the links on Supernatural Encounters Radio and you can listen to past episodes on ParaxVision

Godfather of Demonology

Posted on 16 March 2010 by Jason Bayless

Last Saturday night Paul and I went out to the Eastern Paranormal Investigators Co-Op Conference with hopes of interviewing John Zaffis.  John has been coined as the ‘Godfather of Demonology’ and is a very intelligent and entertaining man. john_zaffis-334x377

Luck was on our side because he agreed to sit down and talk to us.  We will broadcast his interview on Saturday March 20th at 7-9pm(EST) on Zombie Popcorn Radio.

So if you are scratching your head and asking yourself, “who is John Zaffis?”  Let me fill you in…

John Zaffis has over thirty years of experience studying and investigating the paranormal. He has had the opportunity to work for and with his aunt and uncle, Ed and Lorraine Warren. This sent John beyond looking for ghosts and hauntings and into studying demonology under the Warrens. This led into John’s involvement with cases of possession and exorcism and working with prominent exorcists in this field. Roman Catholic priests, monks, Buddhists, rabbis and ministers. John has assisted and worked with well-known exorcists Bishop Robert McKenna, Malachi Martin and the Rev Jun.

His research has taken him throughout the United States, Canada, England and Scotland covering several thousands of cases. Through hands on investigating with other investigators and clergy, he has obtained a great deal of knowledge and understanding of the paranormal and is considered one of the foremost authorities in the field today. zaffis-and-bojo

Ghosts and poltergeists where among some of his first-hand paranormal experiences, as well as the demonic and diabolical. He has also worked extensively with both spiritualists and psychics concerning how their knowledge is used for channeling, reincarnation (past-life regression), or the calling of the spirits for information, and how they use meditation to acquire the information which they are seeking. Because of his personal experiences with hauntings, ESP, near death experiences and other paranormal activities, he is firm in his conviction that such phenomena exist.

John has been featured in the Discovery Channel’s documentaries A Haunting in Connecticut and Little Lost Souls. John has also appeared on Unsolved Mysteries, Fox News Live, and many other print and news media events. John is also in the books of Ed and Lorraine Warren GRAVEYARDS and IN A DARK PLACE.

John’s first book, Shadows of the Dark, co-written with Brian McIntyre, was released in September, 2004. John is working on multiple follow-up books currently, and is lecturing all over the United States at colleges and universities.

That blurb was taken from his bio found on John’s site.

So in the interview we will talk about all his projects and his Museum of Haunted items – think Friday the 13th the Series, but in real life. Some of the stories you will hear in this interview will blow you away. So tune in to Zombie Popcorn Radio this Sat., March 20th at 7-9pm (EST) to hear everything!

Here is a trailer for his upcoming film, ‘John Zaffis’ Museum of the Paranormal Movie.’

God Hates Lady Gaga

Posted on 04 March 2010 by Jason Bayless

I knew when I went to go interview Shirley Phelps Roper of Westboro Baptist Church that I would get strange comments from people but I never knew the daughter of Shirley (Megan Phelps) would send me a msg on Twitter. ladyhead

I logged in to Zombie Popcorn’s Twitter account and saw that someone replied to the ‘Dave Aguilera VS Shirley Phelps Roper this Weekend‘  — I saw this msg;

meganphelps @ZombiePopcorn I guess #Horror goes w/Dave, & #Music w/my mom? WBC DOES make great music vids, after all. =)

I watch the video rolling with laughter, you know the type of laughter you get when you are on chatroulette.com and you are amazed at how many grown men sit in front of their web cam completely NUDE  touching themselves – hoping someone will watch them.  I mean, come on! How lonely or full of yourself  do you really have to be to create so much drama in your life?   But whatever makes you happy right?

I am sure as the day draws nearer to the Zombie Popcorn Radio show this sat at 7-9pm (EST) the comments (and hopefully, more videos) will keep coming in about the strangest things – don’t hold back, I enjoy them.

Don’t forget to tune in to Zombie Popcorn Radio this Sat to hang with me and Dave Aguilera and to  hear more of this story.

The Tony Anthony Interview – Re-broadcast

Posted on 17 February 2010 by Jason Bayless

The moment you have all been waiting for – the re-broadcast of Zombie Popcorn’s interview with Tony Anthony. stranger

Tony Anthony is a former film actor, producer, director, and screenwriter, best known for his starring roles in spaghetti westerns and his 1981 3D movie,  Comin’ At Ya!

This is a very rare opportunity to interview Tony Anthony because he did not talk to the press much at all during his career.  So we are forever grateful that he came on Zombie Popcorn Radio.

We  talked about his career in the film industry  from his start all the way up to the current  date and the re-release of the  film that kicked off the 3D revolution in the 1980’s – Comin’ At Ya!

Here is a short bio and then listen to the show or watch it in 3D – all details after the bio.

Tony Anthony is largely credited with the revival of the 3-D concept in the early 1980s. Anthony did, however work for many years on Spaghetti Westerns (some with co-production company Lupo-Anthony-Quintano Productions). He produced and starred in two 3-Dimensional movies, both of which enjoyed a modest theatrical release. After making these two films, Anthony effectively retired from the movie industries (except for the occasional production work with friend Gene Quintano or Mark Damon).

Now stop reading and listen

YAY! It is re-broadcast Wednesday! – Just like every Wednesday we re-broadcast last weeks Zombie Popcorn Radio show – in case you missed it.   As always this show and all the others can be found in the Zombie Popcorn Radio Archive section and on itunes pig1

Last Saturday’s show was the Zombie Popcorn Radio Road Trip show.  We had plans to be zombies in an upcoming zombie western film, but due to the weather the shoot was canceled.

So our trip became Two dudes in the car listening to Enigma stopping to talk to a serial killer, looking at jars with fetus, one eyed pig, and other things inside them.  Yes, we did interview the people who own them.

This show is too bizarre to explain – so stop reading and start listening.

Comin’ At Ya! – Interview with Tony Anthony

Posted on 09 February 2010 by Jason Bayless

I was going to wait and post this later in the week but I am too excited to wait.

On Sat. Feb. 13th, 2010 7-9pm (EST), the actor/director/writer,  Tony Anthony will be on Zombie Popcorn Radio.   silentstranger_anthony

Tony Anthony is a former film actor, producer, director, and screenwriter, best known for his starring roles in spaghetti westerns and his 1981 3D movie,  Comin’ At Ya!

You can do a quick Google of his name and see that he doesn’t do many interviews so to have him on the show is something really remarkable.  We are going to talk about his career in the film industry  from his start all the way up to the current  date and the re-release of the  film that kicked off the 3D revolution in the 1980′s – Comin’ At Ya!

Here is a blurb about Comin’ At Ya! and a sneak peak of a 2D trailer of the upcoming re-release, Coming At Ya!

H.H. Hart, a bank robber, loses his wife to kidnappers on their wedding day. Subsequently, she is traded as a prostitute by villain Gene Quintano .  H.H. Hart races against time to find his wife, with the help of a priest.

Tony’s history in film goes back further and offers some amazing non-3D movies such as the ‘Blindman’ where he co-stars next to Ringo Starr, yes from the Beatles.

Blindman (1971) is about a blind, but deadly, gunman (Tony Anthony), is hired to escort fifty mail order brides to their miner husbands. His business partners double cross him, selling the women to bandit Domingo. Blindman heads into Mexico in pursuit.

And who can’t forget about the series that I grew up watching back in good ol’ Texas – The Stranger series.

It starred Anthony as the Stranger, a shotgun-wielding antihero who helps a group of Mexican bandits steal gold from the US Army and Federales, and then steals it right back from them.

These are just a few of the great films we will talk about with Tony Anthony on Sat. Feb. 13th, 2010. 7-9pm (EST)

So mark your calendar and tune in Feb. 13th, 2010 7-9pm (EST)

**Update**  You can now listen to the interview here –
