Two Dudes Listening to Enigma with a One Eyed Pig

Posted on 06 February 2010 by Jason Bayless

The Zombie Popcorn crew had a road trip yesterday.  Our orginial plans of being zombies in a zombie western movie were canceled due to the weather.  So we did what any normal person would do – We went to a muesum. A muesum of collections,  collections of one eyed pigs, two-headed pigs, a tumor that fills a 10-gallon aquarium, a dresses worn by a 700 pound woman and fleas that are dressed up. pigeye

This was not your ordinary road trip because we hit a detour on the way.  In short, the story involves inteviews with possible serial killers, old men,  along with stories of history, the civil war and two dudes riding around with the windows down listening to Enigma.

For the full story, tune into Zombie Popcorn Radio to hear the interviews and more about the trip.  In the meantime, check out the photos.

Zombie Popcorn’s ‘Posts from Prison’ Series

Posted on 04 February 2010 by Jason Bayless

If you have followed Zombie Popcorn and Zombie Popcorn Radio for a while you know how important reaching out to others and building a community is to me.  In the relative short time that I have been running this site,  I have met so many wonderful people.  Out of every single person I have met over the years I know I could sit down and talk with them for hours about horror movies, games, music and pretty much everything under the sun.  I love  all the emails, comments, Facebook messages,  phone calls and voice mails I get on the Zombie Popcorn hotline.  Thank you!  prison_hands

I was thinking the other day about what would be the most feared experience for most people. What would bring your everyday life to a place similar to hell?  Short of death, I think that the fear would be going to prison.  Having your complete freedom ripped away from you and living in a stale, cold and loud environment, not knowing if it is night, day, bright or rainy outside.  Along with living your life controlled at every moment you have to learn to live with the fear of  not knowing if some crazy person is going to kill or rape you at any moment  To top all that off, you have to sit there knowing you will be spending the rest of your life  there -behind bars.

Starting in March, I am expanding our community and reaching out to a section of the world that we don’t get to hear from much – prisoners.   Zombie Popcorn is opening its pages to the words of an individual who is sitting in prison.  We will get first hand experiences about life in prison.   They will talk about their likes, loves, dislikes and what is is like being in prison

Our first ‘Post from Prison‘ goes by the name, “Z0mbi3Kid“.  He would like to remain anonymous and he will post under that name.  This ensures that he can speak freely without the fear of being reprimanded.

You will be able respond to his writing in the comment section under each post.  I will then print out the post page and mail it to him for his response.

So if you have any questions or comments that you would like to have sent to Z0mbi3Kid,  please place them in the comment section below and he will respond to them in his first post in March.

So stay tuned and join us in the first ever – Zombie Popcorn’s ‘Post from Prison‘ Series

Werewolf vs Vampire Woman (1971)

Posted on 02 February 2010 by Jason Bayless

Since we just had a full moon and the remake of Wolfman is coming out soon, I thought I would break out some old movies for your enjoyment.

Werewolf vs Vampire Woman aka ‘La noche de Walpurgis’ is a film directed by León Klimovsky and stars Paul Naschy.   Paul Naschy has been refereed to as the true king of Spanish horror cinema.

It shouldn’t be a huge surprise that  the Werewolf vs Vampire Woman has received some bad reviews.

I personally think the bad reviews are sparked because fans expect too much from Naschy and considering the time this film was made it is not all that bad – sure I can list about a hundred other films that are better, but why?

Some critics even say that the trailer is way better than the film – but I let you decide.

First, the trailer…

Werewolf vs Vampire Woman werewolf_versus_vampire_woman

Elvira is traveling through the French countryside with her friend Genevieve, searching for the lost tomb of a medieval murderess and possible vampire, Countess Wandessa.

They find a likely site in the castle of Waldemar Daninsky, who invites the women to stay as long as they like. As Waldemar shows Elvira the tomb that supposedly houses the countess, she accidentally causes the vampire to come back to life, hungrier than ever. Daninsky has a hidden secret of his own, but will it be enough to save the two girls from becoming Wandessa’s next victims?

Now the film…

Let me know what you think – Is the trailer better than the film?
