In this episode we talk about why it would suck to be a cult leader and how Tom Selleck’s mustache can take on Dolly Parton, Queen Latifah and ewok sex.
That is not the only thing we talk about in this episode here are some other topics;
Tim Burton reunited with Ed Wood screenwriters to work on two new projects
The countdown has been going on for months and the moment has arrived. I know some of us have been waiting with extreme anticipation and now we know!
Revealed at 9am (PT) today from is the new Friday the 13th….
Check it out! (the image on the right)
This is from Friday the 13th part 3 – YES, the 3D one and the most famous one because Jason gets his mask in my opinion the best 3D movie from the 80′s.
I really hope they add the legendary axe mark in the mask.
I love the month of October! (Yes, I know we are still several months away) I love it because everything horror, dark and evil starts crawling out from the shadows. This year seems to already have a long list of frights and horror lined up.
Just the other day Rob Zombie announced House of 1000 Corpses in Zombievision!
“Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses: In 3D ZombieVision,” an original concept based on the cult smash film “House Of 1000 Corpses” will offer Halloween Horror Nights guests the opportunity to don 3D glasses for an up-close-and-personal three-dimensional encounter with the world’s most infamous serial killers. Guests will travel through the world of Capt. Spaulding, Baby, Otis and Dr. Satan experiencing Zombie’s iconic creations – “live” and in 3D. Fans of House of 1000 Corpses” will feel at home walking through the Firefly family residence, the “Museum of Monsters and Madmen” and Dr. Satan’s lair.
Saturday night was the LIVE broadcast of Zombie Popcorn Radio and it was damn hot! No, I don’t mean in a sexy way – I mean, the heat index was so high that it caused my computer to overheat and malfunction during the show. Oh, don’t worry we still pushed through to bring you a great show and now you can listen to it on iTunes or on Zombie Popcorn Radio. The show is called, ‘Our Issues are Technical‘
I have never been into the Saw films. In fact, I have only seen parts of one and I stopped watching it because it bored me to death. I loved the concept of the movie and wished it would have been a little more exciting and visceral.
All that may change when the final chapter of the Saw franchise comes out in October. Yes, I am talking about SAW 3D. I think it will have the same effect on me as Final Destination 3D had on me. ( Meaning the 3D killings was the only thing that saved that movie.)
So, I am putting all my dislike of the Saw franchise aside and am hoping for an awesome 3D horror movie.
Paul and I went to see The Last Airbender in *cough* 3D and I was very disappointed with this movie and any other movie that claims to be in 3D.
If a movie is going to claim to be in 3D it must be shot in native 3D not this fake 2D/3D conversion crap. The Last Airbender could have been in the top 5 3D films of 2010 IF it was a real 3D movie. The images in this film were so flat and weak it was like watching a 2D film with 3D glasses on – totally pointless.
The Last Airbender had all the elements (no, pun intended) to make a perfect 3D movie. I would even go out on a limb to say that the Last Airbender would have given James Cameron’s Avatar a run for its money… that is if the Last Airbender was a real 3D movie.
DO NOT PAY MONEY TO SEE THIS FILM IN 3D!
If you are going to see this movie save your cash and see the 2D version of the movie or download it. If you are a 3D movie fan – I recommend boycotting this movie and any other 2D/3D conversion movie. The studios must learn that pawning off half assed fake 3D movies and charging more money for it will not fly. We, the ticket buyers, must send them a message that we don’t like being screwed.
The studios will kill modern 3D if they keep pumping out crap like the fake 3D Clash of the Titans and the Last Airbender but even worse is that they will turn off potential viewers/movie watchers.
When I was walking out of The Last Airbenders people were not talking about how great the effects were and how wonderful the story was – they only talked about how CRAPPY the 3D was. I always thought that the goal of the studios was to get people to talk about how amazing the film was and to get people back in the theater seats to see the movie again. With this fake 3D the studios have failed the viewers and themselves.
The studios know that they are pumping out fake 3D movies and they don’t seem to care, well, at least here in the States. 3DmovieMan pointed out to me that SKY (UK TV) will air 3D movies but only under strict rules. They will not air a film if it is a 2D/3D conversion – meaning if the film has more more than 2- 5 percent conversion then they will not air it. They understand that the conversion does not work and fans do NOT like it.
Something needs to be done soon before they kill 3D.
You have lost your way Hollywood and you will soon lose a lot of fans…
I will go into more details on this rant on Zombie Popcorn Radio July 10, 2010 – so tune in and share your voice

Remember this movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB0NyGVBJyo
Yes, Universal Soldier! This movie had to be everyone’s guilty pleasure in the early 90′s. The story plot and the acting was so bad and it didn’t seem to matter because, back then, everyone was Jean-Claude Van Damme crazy.
Well, guess what? Now Universal Soldier can be everyone’s guilty pleasure again but this time in 3D. Word has hit the streets that Universal Soldier IV 3D is moving forward. I know you are shocked and saying to yourself, “There are two other Universal Soldier movies?!”
Yes, but I need to stay focused because Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren are returning to star in number 4. That means Van Damme in 3D! — I don’t know if I should happy there is going to be another 3D movie or super sad because there is going to be another Universal Soldier movie.
John Hyams will be directing this installment of the franchise – Mr Hyams is the guy who brought you Universal Soldier: Regeneration back in 2009.
What are your thoughts? Do we need another Universal Soldier movie?
When things go so very wrong the best thing to do is blame your guest and that what we did on this weeks episode of Zombie Popcorn Radio.
It makes perfect sense to blame our in studio guest, Christine when everything starts to fall apart. You will hear in this episode she has the power to destroy all things around her. So pull up a chair and listen stories from the most ‘unluckiest’ person in the world. Her stories will split your side.
We also talked about
Will Smith returning to do ‘Men in Black’ 3D
Power of the Dark Crystal – a sequel to The Dark Crystal
If you were listening to Zombie Popcorn Radio last night you would have heard 3D Movie Man’s report from Texas Frightmare Weekend. If you missed out on the report don’t worry the re-broadcast of the show will be up on Zombie Popcorn first thing tomorrow morning.
For those who don’t know about Texas Frightmare Weekend – let me bring you up to speed.
Frightmare is the southwest’s premier horror convention. Featuring celebrity guests, film screenings, panel discussions and more! The guests included;

Cassandra Peterson as Elvira
I could go on and on
Texas Frightmare was also the place for the release of the trailer for the remake ‘I spit on your Grave’
If you can’t wait until tomorrow to hear the report, then I guess this preview put together by 3D Movie Man will hold you over until tomorrow.
On this episode of Zombie Popcorn Radio we had two very special guests on the show, Hasan – A friend from Bosnia and Mama Lisa returns to sit in on the show.
One of my all time favorite movies is the 1979 film, Alien.
That film changed the way I looked at movies and gave birth to my horror prop collection. I had every single Alien figure as well as every Alien comic book. I still own the Heavy Metal presents Alien: The Illustrated Story
Anyway, this post is not about how nerd-y I can get over Alien merchandise – it is about how I am going to totally geek out when the next two Alien films come out.
Just announced- Ridley Scott (the director of the first Alien) is doing a two part prequel of Alien and they will be in 3D!
Jim over at MarketSaw-3D confirmed this bit of information;
ALIEN prequel will definitely be shot in 3D and that he will be using the most advanced 3D cameras on the planet. Twice as effective as the ones used on AVATAR as Cameron’s technology has evolved since then.
The part that I am sure got everyone excited was, “Twice as effective as the ones used on AVATAR”. Meaning this movie is going to look beyond amazing and I am sure it will scare you out of your skin as the face-huggers jump on your face!
The story plot has not been announced yet but Zombie Popcorn will keep you posted as soon as more information is released!
What make this episode different is we watch the film ‘The New Barbarians’ aka ‘Warriors of the Wasteland’ with you!
What is ‘The New Barbarians’? Well, this review should sum it up..
This post-apocalyptic low-budget romp has it all: A homosexual death cult that navigates the wasteland in 20 horsepower go-carts, looking for things to kill! A dashing lone wolf survivor who maintains a rather ambiguous relationship with a prepubescent boy (who also happens to be the local go-to auto mechanic)! Former NFL star Fred Williamson, who’s totally sweet archery skills are second only to his arsenal of exploding arrowheads!!! Add to all of this a hot and vulnerable female lead, a cheesy electronic score, and a bunch of awesome monologues by the leader of the bad guys (“There is only one faith! One ecstasy! DEATH!!!”), and you got one hell of a good time! Take it from a true connoisseur of crap: this movie is worth the low price. Best enjoyed with a few beers and a sense of humor.
One of the first questions I get asked when the conversation about me collecting stereoscopic 3D movies comes up is, “Do you have any 3D porn?” or “Do they make porn in 3D?” The funny thing is you would normally think that it is just the guys who ask this question but it is not. I have found that the 3D porn question is on everyone mind, both male and female.
I am asked so much I felt I needed to write this post about 3D porn.
3D porn has been around since the invention of 3D. It makes sense that it would because it seems sex is the only thing that we can agree on – well, unless you think the bible says gay sex is wrong and if you think that – why are you reading a post about 3D porn? – BUSTED!
Anyway, 3D was created in the 1800′s but was used for 3D photography. You can thumb through 3D history books and find several photos of artistic nudes 3D photos dating way back to the birth of the 3D camera. Here is a photo of Howard University dated from the 1800′s.
The first 3D motion picture made public (non-porn) was released in 1903. There are film clips of 3D porn that dates way back to the twenties and earlier. Most people think of the 1960′s through the 70′s when they think of 3D porn because that is when 3D porn hit a boom.
In 1961, Francis Ford Coppola opened a film in 3D as “Adults Only” called, Bellboy and the Playgirls.
This film introduced the 3D peeping tom/key hole.
Following Coppola’s film a flood of other ‘peeping tom’ style films began popping up but it wasn’t until 1962, when Adam and Six Eves came out that gave way for a bigger 3D a boost. This is the era of the birth 3D skinflicks – meaning films that carry the ‘X’ instead of the rating ‘Adults Only’. At the end of the 60′s 3D porn was being pushed out by2D ‘XXX’ films.
Until 1969, a film called The Stewardesses 3D came out. In its first two years of release it became one of the top grossing films. It was claimed to be the most successful independent feature made up to that time – out-grossing most major studio films. According the press kit for the film, it states:
“In today’s dollars, it grossed over $100,000,000.00 (no, that’s not a typo). The film played for over 2 years in some theatres, and out-grossed mainstream fare like Love Story.”
This film is still popular amongst people today and they just re-released the 40th Anniversary edition of the film.

So what now? What is 3D porn doing in modern times to do battle against free porn on the net and movies like Avatar?
I have only seen one of the Resident Evil movies and I am more of a fan of the games. After watching the trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, the newest addition to the franchise, I have to say I am excited to see the film. I am more excited to see the 3D and how it was done. In the trailer they promote that they used the 3D system created by James Cameron and Mr. Price that was used for Avatar.
I have been saying for the longest time now that we need a new 3D zombie movie so I guess this is as close as I can get, at the moment.
So check out the trailer and let me know your thoughts on this film – are you going to see it because you are a fan of Resident Evil or because it is in 3D?

Saturday night on Zombie Popcorn Radio we had two very special guests on the show. One of the guests is in contact with aliens and channels human Extra-Terrestrials during the interview. The other guest is the one who invited him on the show.
A long time listener and fan of Zombie Popcorn, Christina D, contacted me and said, “I met a guy who is in contact with several aliens and has agreed to come on Zombie Popcorn Radio.” So, I did what any one faced with such a comment would do - I invited both of them to be on the show!
*side note: If you have someone you want us to interview or have something special you can do, PLEASE call us so we can have you on the show. (757) 337-2195
So join us on this re-broadcast of Saturday’s show where we interview Phil – a guy who has been in contact with aliens for a long time. During this interview Phil channels the human ET race and answers our questions about why they (the aliens) are here. Other topics we cover on this episode are:
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
Legend of the Guardians
The Human Centipede
Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D
Remaking of Rosemary’s Baby
Beverly Hills Cop 4
and the down fall of 2D to 3D conversion
and much much more!
So tune in and learn about The Greys andThe Reptilians alien races and leave the show asking yourself, “Why the hell is Eddie Murphy doing another Beverly Hills Cop movie?” Grab your hot tea, kick up your feet and listen to this weeks ZPR episode – ‘Rosemary’s Alien’
Legand of the Guardians is a film based on the children book series – Guardians of Ga’Hoole by Kathryn Lasky.
Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie’s, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga’Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie’s. The film is based on the first three books in the series.
This film looks amazing and yes, it will be in 3D! The word on the streets is that the film will hit theaters in September of this year.
I am so excited for this movie and after watching this trailer – I am even more excited.
I loved the original movie and I can only imagine how wonderful these killings will be in 3D.
The story plot for the new film goes like this;
A tremor under the surface of Lake Victoria unleashes scores of prehistoric piranhas, an event which rallies the local sheriff who will risk everything to save her townsfolk.
But we should really just compare trailers because it so much fun.
Which would do you think is better?:
First the new trailer (2010)
Now the original 1978 trailer
Personally, I think they are both great but what do you think?
The website for this movie was launched a couple of days ago and only offers an email sign up at the moment. -
